Reports have indicated that long running and influential bike trade mag and site Bike Europe is making a strategic move that has seen its editorial team leave.
Bike Europe’s Netherlands-headquartered publisher VMN is to focus more heavily on data driven content, according to Nieuwsfiets. There appears to be no official news release on the move yet, but CIN has verified the news appears correct.
Both Editor-in-Chief Jan-Willem van Schaik and Senior Editor Rosie Burgin are reportedly leaving the business, the former having worked at Bike Europe since 2007 and ten years prior to that in the B2B cycling industry world. Burgin, also a seasoned international journalist, has worked with Bike Europe for over six years. Both highly experienced journos are still listed on the Bike Europe site.
Bike Europe’s roots extend back to 1996, and the brand has traditionally been strong in the data space, producing white papers and market reports (not unlike CIN’s Market Data, we’re obliged to note) over the years.
