The Mountain Bike Hall of Fame is joining forces with the World Cup to celebrate its 2026 class of inductees. The four nominated individuals will be inducted into the Hall of Fame a ceremony during the final round of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series in Lake Placid, New York.
This year’s list includes Tracey Moseley, Max Commencal, Greg Minnaar and SRAM co-founder Stan Day. Together, they represent a broad spectrum of the mountain bike community, from technological development to racing, over decades of the sports history.
The ceremony will be part of the new Golden Arrows awards, taking place for the first time on Oct. 4, 2026. The event is planned to be a sort of year-end event for the World Cup and broader cycling community.
Minnaar, Moseley, Max and Stan
As mentioned, there are four inductees on the 2026 roster.
This year’s list follows a 2025 class that saw five names join the Hall of Fame roster. In 2025, the HOF inducted Jill Kintner, Cam Zink, Joey Klein, and Rock Shox founders Paul Turner and Steve Simons.
Tracey Moseley
First in downhill, then in enduro, Tracey Moseley mixed dominance with inspiration. The British rider has a downhill world championship, numerous World Cup wins and titles and put in three dominant seasons in the early days of the Enduro World Series. Moseley helped inspire of generation of female downhill racers, at home and beyond, and continues to play a role in the racing community.
Greg Minnaar
Four world championship titles, more than 20 World Cup wins and a career that spanned a quarter century at the international level. Greg Minnaar’s racing was defined by unprecedented longevity in a sport often considered the realm of the young. First winning world championships in 2003, he stood on the worlds podium an incredible 11 times before his last stunning worlds win, 18 years later, 2021. The South African now leads Norco Race Division as Team Manager.
Max Commencal
Founder of Sunn and, then, Commencal, Max Commencal remains a constant presence on the side of World Cup tracks. Numerous teams have sported the Commencal name with a list of wins and accomplishments aboard his bikes too long to list. With a career in mountain biking spanning four decades, often pushing the development of bikes as well as the professionalisation of racing, Max Commencal’s influence on mountain bike racing is hard to overstate.
Stan Day
Stan Day’s influence on cycling is visible on nearly every bike, mountain biking and beyond. As co-founder of SRAM, his company has pushed cycling technology in numerous ways. From wide range, 1x drivetrains to AXS wireless shifting, SRAM has driven change in a way that has, often, forced the competition to follow. Whether a high performance bike has SRAM components or another brand, it’s likely been influenced by technology the U.S. brand helped develop.
