Gates Industrial Corporation has expanded its Belt Drive product portfolio with three new products, catering to the needs of entry-level bikes and eBikes.
CRUISE provides a cost-efficient entry point into belt drive systems, enabling OEMs to offer clean, quiet and low-maintenance drivetrains for entry-level and value-oriented bicycles.
CRUISE PLUS builds on the CRUISE platform with enhanced durability, a longer service life and broader compatibility. Positioned between entry-level models and higher-performance applications, it is designed to meet the demands of everyday riding, including mid-range eBikes.
COMMUTE is engineered specifically for urban eBike applications, supporting mid-motor systems with up to 75 Nm of torque. Designed for daily mobility, it prioritises durability, weather resistance and low maintenance to deliver reliable performance in all riding conditions.
“The new sprocket families enhance our tiered performance belt portfolio, providing our OEM partners with more options to bring additional belt-driven bicycles to their line-ups,” said Tom Pitstick, President, Americas and Global Mobility.
The company also stated that these new products can tap into opportunities in the broader market and bring belt drive technology to segments still served by chain-based drivetrains.
The expanded portfolio is now available globally.
“Paired with an industry-leading portfolio of belt drive system components, the expanded sprocket offering gives original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners a scalable path to specify belt drive systems across a wider range of applications, rider expectations and price points,” the company added.
