Hope introduces EVO V6Ti with enhanced cooling and stopping power

Hope has launched the EVO V6Ti brake, a new braking system designed to deliver enhanced stopping power, improved heat management and reduced weight for demanding mountain bike applications.

At the heart of the system is a one-piece CNC-machined caliper engineered to achieve an optimal stiffness-to-weight ratio while maximising surface area for more efficient heat dissipation. The caliper is equipped with titanium pistons, each featuring a titanium nitride (TiN) coating to reduce friction and enhance durability. A cross-drilled piston design further improves cooling performance during sustained braking.

The EVO V6Ti also features a radial-mount design, which eliminates the limitations associated with traditional post-mount systems. This allows for a larger caliper body, bigger pistons and increased pad surface area, contributing to enhanced braking performance.

Complementing the brake is Hope’s new T-slot vented rotor, developed specifically to improve thermal management. Cooling fins positioned between the braking surfaces help lower rotor temperatures, while the floating T-slot design allows the outer rotor to move independently under load, reducing the risk of distortion. For easier maintenance and lower running costs, the outer rotor can be replaced separately when worn, removing the need to replace the entire rotor assembly.

The EVO V6Ti is compatible only with dedicated brake mounts and requires a disc diameter that is 20mm larger than standard setups. The system is designed for use with post-mount forks and frames (PM180, PM200 and PM203) fitted with 200mm or 220mm rotors, and is compatible exclusively with 2.3mm and 3.3mm vented brake discs.
