Active Travel England has appointed Fusion Media to organise its flagship Making Active Places Conference 2026 in Manchester.
Fusion Media’s role includes conference and operational management, venue and supplier liaison, programme coordination, speaker support, sponsorship and exhibitor management, delegate communications, hybrid event delivery and on-site support.
Moreover, Fusion Media will support the conference’s commercial development by identifying and managing sponsorship and exhibition opportunities. Drawing on its networks across the active travel, transport and sports sectors, the agency will work to secure brand-safe commercial partners, manage exhibitor relationships, and help drive additional ticket sales and awareness.

The annual conference, which will take place in Manchester from 22 to 23 September 2026, will serve as a major national platform for sharing evidence, policy insight and best practice in active travel, bringing together transport professionals, local authorities, planners, stakeholders and delivery partners from across the country.
It plays an important role in strengthening collaboration across the sector, showcasing innovation and reinforcing the national leadership needed to create safer, healthier and more connected places.
