Brooklyn, NY – The Wagner College women’s basketball team will take its unbeaten Northeast Conference (NEC) record to St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday at 7pm.
Last Time Out
Wagner remained unbeaten in conference play with a 57-52 win at CCSU on January 21.
Fifth year senior Kem Nwabudu led the way with 16 points and four rebounds. Nwabudu tallied 10 of her 16 points in the second quarter.

Redshirt junior Alex Cowan and graduate student Zhaneia Thybulle each tallied 11 points in the win.
Kem Nwabudu Named NEC Player of the Week
Kem Nwabudu earned NEC Player of the Week honors after averaging 15 points and eight rebounds in victories over Stonehill and CCSU last week.
Along with being named Player of the Week, Nwabudu was named a Prime Performer with teammates Zhaneia Thybulle and senior Drayah Heyward.

Thybulle averaged 11.5 points and 5.5 assists per game against Stonehill and CCSU while Heyward averaged 12.5 points, four rebounds and five assists.
Just One Remains
With a 84-63 win over Stonehill and a hard-fought 57-52 win over CCSU, Wagner emerged as the lone team with a 6-0 record through the first three weeks of conference play.
The NEC preseason favorites are off to a 6-0 start in conference play for the first time ever. Wagner is defeating opponents by an average of 17.0 points per game through the first six games of conference play.
Sharing The Wealth
The Seahawks boast an extremely well-balanced offense that currently sits atop the NEC at 65.2 points per game — a number that has elevated to 71.5 points per game in conference contests.
Wagner is the lone team in the NEC to have four players average double figures during conference play in junior Julia Fabozzi, Zhaneia Thybulle, Drayah Heyward and Alex Cowan.
Experience Leading The Way
Alex Cowan leads the Seahawks with 12.6 points per game. The Bowie, MD native has scored in double figures in five out of six conference games and in five consecutive contests.
Zhaneia Thybulle has scored in double figures in seven out of eight games, Wagner is 7-1 during that stretch.
Kem Nwabudu has scored in double figures eight times and is averaging 9.7 points per game through conference play.
Multiple Contributors
Alex Cowan, Zhaneia Thybulle and Kem Nwabudu all rank in the top-15 in points per game in the conference. Cowan’s 12.8 points per game are good for sixth in the circuit.
Kem Nwabudu’s 45.2 field goal percentage is good for third in the conference as three players rank in the top-15 in assists.
NEC Leaders
Wagner is the lone unbeaten team in conference play. The Seahawks’ 54.5 points allowed is second in the NEC.
Wagner’s 65.2 points per game and its 40.9 field goal percentage ranks first in the circuit.
Wagner leads the NEC with 13.8 assists per game and Zhaneia Thybulle assists totals rank first with 4.4 per contest.
Wagner’s +5.6 turnover margin and 21.4 forced turnovers per game ranks first while the Seahawks’ 9.4 steals per game rank second.
The Green & White’s 0.9 assist to turnover ratio is tied for first in the conference with FDU.
Scouting The Terriers
The Terriers welcome the Seahawks with a 5-13 overall record and a 4-2 mark in conference play.
In its last contest, the Terriers used a 22-point fourth quarter to earn a close victory over Saint Francis U on January 21.
Guard Alyssa Fisher is second in the NEC with 16.5 points per game, she is averaging 19.7 points per game in conference play.
Sarah Bandoma leads the NEC with 27 total blocks and 1.5 blocks per game this season.
