Pogacar wants to ride the European Championships in Slovenia at all costs, new rumour says

Italian journalist Beppe Conti, known for his cycling and transfers insights, is among those who fuel again speculation that Tadej Pogacar would line up at the 2026 European Championships on home soil in Slovenia.

The defending champion had shown clear interest in racing the event around Ljubljana in early October, with a hilly course that suited him perfectly.

National team officials also expected him to take part. That possibility ended after his heavy crash at the Vuelta a Espana.

Pogacar’s team confirmed in early September that his season is over, meaning he will miss both the Worlds and the home Euros while focusing on recovery.

If Pogacar’s plans really changed should be revealed soon as European Championships start in 2 weeks.
