J.B. Bickerstaff appears to have strong organizational support with the Detroit Pistons despite previously being dismissed by the Cleveland Cavaliers following a second-round playoff exit two years ago.

According to Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press, Bickerstaff is not currently facing concerns about his long-term future in Detroit and believes the franchise is focused on stability and patience as the team develops.

“We’re going to be here for a while, right?” he said. “And this group is going to be together for a while.”

Bickerstaff also praised Pistons president Trajan Langdon and owner Tom Gores for creating an environment where he does not feel constant pressure tied to every result.

“So we have to do what’s best for this group in total and not just react to our emotions in the moment,” Bickerstaff explained.

“Being here, working with Trajan and Tom, they’ve afforded me the ability to be able to do that and see the game that way, where you don’t feel like you have to win or lose every possession or your job’s on the line.”
