Friday 8th May 2026

Shettleston duo Jamie and Brogan win as Lachie is remembered (2025 10k Champs report)

The Lindsays Scottish 5k Champs delivered remarkable in-depth fast times last Friday night –  and now the 10k Champs this weekend look stacked, too.

In fact, if anything the top end quality looks even stronger for Glasgow Green on Sunday than it did for Silverknowes.

No fewer than five former champions are set to line up for the Babcock Glasgow 10k which hosts our Lindsays Scottish 10k Champs.

Medals, PBs and prize-money are all on the line on Sunday morning – with the race starting at 10.30am.

There is a Record Entry of 731 athletes with an age range from 16 and 78 and no fewer than 81 clubs represented from across Scotland and the wider UK.

Organisers Shettleston Harriers are making a massive effort with 60 club volunteers on hand with further help from Babcock 10k Series partners, Helensburgh AAC and Dumbarton AAC.

Those former Men’s champions include Jamie Burns, Sean Chalmers and John Bell and with new 5k champion Kev Campbell and Lindsays National XC winner Jamie Crowe listed, as well.

Defending champion for the Babcock Glasgow 10k Omar Ahmed is expected to line up as well.

In the Women’s field, there are three former champions and the podium contenders look likely to include Natasha Phillips, Stefanie Tucker and Grace Whelan.

As at Silverknowes, national championship medals are up for grabs for individuals and teams in what is now the Lindsays Road Race Series.
