More info on District Champs for 2026
Entries remain open for our 4J District Championships in the middle of next month.
The events take place in Aberdeen and Kilmarnock over the weekend of May 16 and 17.
These championships are now for U16, U14 and U12 athletes with some new formats.
Redevelopment work at Inverness for this summer has led to a venue switch and now the North and East District events will be in Aberdeen.
Enter: East and North District Track and Field Championships
Enter: West District Track and Field Championships
Entries will close at 5pm on Thursday 30 April
These competitions are designed as accessible, development-focused championships early in the outdoor season.
For U14 Athletes
- Multi-event based format
- Choose up to three events
- Points awarded for performances
- Gold, silver and bronze performance standards recognised
This encourages well-rounded development and avoids early specialisation, while still rewarding strong performances.
For U16 Athletes
- Traditional championship format
- Heats and finals where appropriate
- Individual medals on offer
This provides valuable experience of the competitive structures athletes will meet at national level while keeping the focus firmly on learning and improvement in the early part of the season.
