Shayla Gillmer<\/a><\/dfn> made their Husky debuts, and Brown recorded her first points in the purple and gold. In the final minutes of the fourth quarter, all four freshmen were on the court at the same time.<\/p>\nThe Huskies were tough in the paint, picking up multiple and-one opportunities.<\/p>\n
A scrappy, energetic defense picked up 14 steals \u2013 Daniels had three of those \u2013 and forced 19 turnovers.<\/p>\n
“I think there are a lot of weapons on this team defensively,” Langley said. “I think we are learning that we have that capability.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
For the second-straight game to start the season, the Huskies scored over 80 points. The energy felt on the court and the bench alike was electric.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Washington continued to focus on how they can continue to grow each game, and Langley was happy with what she saw.<\/p>\n
“I was so proud of everyone who came into the game tonight,” Langley said. “I thought everyone who came in was ready and understood the growth that we needed to have as a team. That’s what we want to see \u2013 everyone able to give each other that time on the floor and have that growth.”
