Kristaps Porzingis says he has regrets about how his time ended in New York.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know, the way the trade happened,\u201d he said after Wednesday\u2019s Wizards-Knicks game at Madison Square Garden.<\/p>\n
\u201cLike I did some dumb stuff, like some cryptic tweets. What was I even doing? The whole process was just a mess, you know? I didn\u2019t like the way things ended. That wasn\u2019t how I wanted it to end, if it did end, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n
Porzingis\u2019 admission follows comments he made in October about his Knicks departure.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow that I\u2019m older, smarter and understand what happened back then, it could have been done differently for sure,\u201d he said at the time.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe ACL [tear], it didn\u2019t help \u2014 all of that situation. In the end, maybe sooner or later it would have happened anyway. It\u2019s hard to say. For sure, what I can say is things could have been done differently.\u201d<\/p>\n
Previously, stories (likely leaked by the Knicks) emerged about Porzingis\u2019 attitude problems and attempts from his brother to flex his influence on the organization.<\/p>\n
Porzingis said he was advised to stay silent about his motivation to leave the Knicks, which was another mistake.<\/p>\n
He also skipped his exit meeting the offseason prior to requesting a trade.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
