While racers are usually trying to keep heat at bay during the summer, the system does need to stay warm enough to feel consistent. Especially on a track like 1199, where predicable braking is key.<\/p>\n
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-148646\" src=\"https:\/\/cyclingmagazine.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Whistler-World-Cup-107-copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cyclingmagazine.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Whistler-World-Cup-107-copy.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/cyclingmagazine.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Whistler-World-Cup-107-copy-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cyclingmagazine.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Whistler-World-Cup-107-copy-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cyclingmagazine.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Whistler-World-Cup-107-copy-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cyclingmagazine.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Whistler-World-Cup-107-copy-160x107.jpg 160w, https:\/\/cyclingmagazine.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Whistler-World-Cup-107-copy-320x213.jpg 320w, https:\/\/cyclingmagazine.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Whistler-World-Cup-107-copy-480x320.jpg 480w, https:\/\/cyclingmagazine.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Whistler-World-Cup-107-copy-640x427.jpg 640w, https:\/\/cyclingmagazine.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Whistler-World-Cup-107-copy-960x640.jpg 960w, https:\/\/cyclingmagazine.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Whistler-World-Cup-107-copy-1120x747.jpg 1120w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\"\/><\/a>
Other riders were going for the front-only.
