Melanie Woods won two golds in Para track events at Glasgow 2026 (photo by Bobby Gavin)<\/strong><\/p>\n Scottish Disability Sport website<\/a><\/p>\n Melanie Woods<\/strong> has been named Athlete of the Year<\/strong> by Scottish Disability Sport<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The double Commonwealth Games gold medallist was recognised for her superb 2026 by SDS via their Findlay Calder Trophy.<\/p>\n And Para athletics in Scotland was well-represented in other categories, too.<\/p>\n Steve Doig<\/strong> took the Fife Trophy as SDS Performance Coach of the Year winner.<\/p>\n There was a Special Recognition Award for our own Pamela Robson<\/strong>, scottish<\/strong>athletics Paralympic Pathway Manager, as a \u2018Thank You\u2019 for her unwavering commitment to helping develop Para sport in Scotland.<\/p>\n Wheelchair racer Joanna Robertson<\/strong>, who made her Team Scotland debut at Glasgow 2026, was one of two recipients of a Russell Hogg Bursary via the SDS awards.<\/p>\n Congratulations to Melanie, Steve, Pamela and Joanna<\/em>.<\/p>\n Steve Doig with Commownealth Games trio Ben Sandilands, Owen Miller and Steven Bryce (all of whom he coaches)<\/strong><\/p>\n ++<\/p>\n Tags:<\/strong>![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.scottishathletics.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_9888-935x1024.jpeg\")
