Photo by Bobby Gavin<\/strong><\/p>\n Eilidh Doyle: Passing the Baton<\/a><\/p>\n Eilidh Doyle<\/strong> is stepping down from the scottish<\/strong>athletics Board after eight years of service.<\/p>\n The multiple medallist first took on the role in 2018 while still a competing athlete and has given valuable insight in the intervening period.<\/p>\n Board members can serve two four-year terms so Eilidh\u2019s dedication and commitment hasn\u2019t wavered during a busy point in her life.<\/p>\n Alongside the Board, Eilidh\u2019s support for the governing body has been further reflected via roles at our Club Conference, Young People\u2019s Forum Conference, Let\u2019s Go, Athletics Trust Scotland, Lindsays Q and A sessions, EAP co-commentary, Glasgow 2026 Business Lunch, and (no doubt) one or two more!<\/p>\n \u2018I would like to take this opportunity to thank Eilidh for her outstanding contribution to the scottishathletics Board over the past eight years,\u2019 said our Chair, David Ovens<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u2018Eilidh\u2019s perspective as an athlete who progressed through the club system to the highest level, representing Scotland and Great Britain at Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth level, has made her a hugely respected and influential voice around the Board table.<\/p>\n Eilidh and David at the 2023 Young People\u2019s Forum Conference (photo by Bobby Gavin)<\/strong><\/p>\n Our Board structure<\/a><\/p>\n \u2018Eight years is a significant commitment and I am particularly grateful for the insight and enthusiasm Eilidh has given us as the governing body during that period.<\/p>\n \u2018She leaves the Board with our sincere thanks and appreciation for everything she has contributed, and I know I speak for everyone in wishing her every success and happiness for the future.<\/p>\n \u2018Eilidh will always be an important part of the athletics family in Scotland. I am sure we will see plenty of her in the years ahead.\u2019<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Claire McCracken<\/strong> joins us as our Company Secretary,\u00a0bringing over 25 years of experience working in the legal sector.<\/p>\n In addition to her role at Weightmans as the Regional Head for Scotland, Claire is a member of Bellahouston Harriers and has previously held Scottish Records in the women\u2019s 2000m and 3000m Steeplechase.<\/p>\n Chris Grant<\/strong> has joined our Board of Directors. Chris served on the Board of sport<\/strong>scotland from 2017-2025 and professionally is a Director at M Group Water.
