Jonathan Kuminga has addressed his decision to sign with the Timberwolves at his introductory press conference.<\/p>\n
Kuminga could have had essentially double the money at another team such as the Lakers, but decided to sign with Minnesota \u2013\u00a0 and he\u2019s backing himself all the way.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust looking back, I think I\u2019ll say it\u2019s one of the best decisions I made,\u201d Kuminga said of coming to the Warriors\u2019 Western conference rival. \u201cJust looking at the roster, looking at the young group of guys they have, and just seeing what they\u2019ve done in the past and things that they\u2019re trying to accomplish going forward.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kuminga says he\u2019s willing to play any role that will help the team out. It\u2019s unlikely to be a dominant one, since LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards will be the primary ball handlers.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think my game, my mentality, pretty much everything fit well with the group. It don\u2019t matter what it is,\u201d Kuminga said. \u201cThey could put me wherever: running the floor, screen, defend, play fast, whatever it is. I feel like I could come in, be one of the best defenders.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kuminga was also gushing over LaMelo and his dedication to his workouts.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was watching him work out yesterday. I was watching him doing certain things, and just the way he passed the ball \u2014 it\u2019s incredible,\u201d Kuminga said. \u201cI mean, I play with so many point guards in my career, but I never played with somebody that could pass as good as LaMelo, so I think I\u2019m looking forward to it.\u201d<\/p>\n
