Megan Thee Stallion has opened up about just how difficult her breakup with former Warriors star Klay Thompson became before the pair went their separate ways.<\/p>\n
The rapper described the split as \u201cvery rough\u201d and said the experience left her feeling like she\u2019d \u201cbeen put through the washing machine and the dryer with tins, shovels, and a cactus,\u201d during an interview with InStyle.<\/p>\n
Megan and Thompson began dating last year and quickly became one of the NBA\u2019s most high-profile couples. She regularly attended his games before announcing their separation in April and publicly accusing Thompson of cheating.<\/p>\n
Now, months removed from the relationship, Megan says she realized she had spent too long trying to force something that wasn\u2019t working.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow do I want to say this gently?\u201d she said<\/a>. \u201cWhat\u2019s meant for you is always going to work out. And if something is constantly making you feel uncomfortable, just on edge all the time, you probably are not supposed to be there.<\/p>\n \u201cGod will always make you uncomfortable when something is not meant for you. I think I just kept trying to make pieces fit that didn\u2019t belong, trying to fit myself into someone else\u2019s life. I was losing myself a little bit. I am now in the space of finding me again.\u201d<\/p>\n The Grammy-winning artist also made it clear that any future relationship will need to look much different.<\/p>\n \u201cI cannot be minimized,\u201d she said. \u201cI will not be behind any man. I will have a partner. I will be equals with my partner. I\u2019m never gonna take the backseat to anything. So just going forward, I think I\u2019ve just learned this is the type of person that I want to be with, this is what I will tolerate, this is what I won\u2019t tolerate.
