The 2026 UCI road worlds are coming to Canada, and the riders on the national team will have special kit to wear come September.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, Cycling Canada launched a special new kit for the road worlds in Montreal, a design that leans heavily into both national pride and the city\u2019s rich sporting culture.<\/p>\n
The launch coincides with Canada Day, to make it even more Canuck-themed!<\/p>\n
It\u2019s the first time the road worlds will be held in Canada since Hamilton back in 2003. It\u2019s the second time in Montreal\u2014the last time was way back in 1974.<\/p>\n
In 2025, the road worlds were in Rwanda, with Sherbrooke\u2019s Magdeleine Valli\u00e8res Mill<\/a> taking the first-ever elite rainbow jersey in Canadian history.<\/p>\n The race kit is predominantly red, but riders will also get a nifty grey training jersey in a home-and-away concept inspired by Canada\u2019s Olympic hockey teams.<\/p>\n There are lots of nods to Montreal, too. Chequered flag details pay tribute to the city\u2019s Formula 1 heritage, for example. If you look close, you\u2019ll see some geometric patterns inspired by Expo 67, too.<\/p>\n The kit was designed by Nick Monette of Jakroo and Samuel Clairoux of Argon 18.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you rep your country and your country reps you at the same time, pride goes both ways. We want athletes to feel like we are proud of them, and that what they do is important and deserves to be recognized,\u201d Clairoux said.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Argon 18 is also making specially painted bikes for Team Canada to use as spares.<\/p>\n And good news: you\u2019ll be able to buy one too.
