The brands claim a 19 watt aero advantage and 288g weight loss over the bikes\u2019 predecessors, despite a tyre width increase from 40mm to 45mm.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>New Cadex gravel wheels featured have a 1,280g claimed weight and feature <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclist.co.uk\/in-depth\/carbon-spokes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">carbon spokes <\/a>fused to the hub flanges.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><figcaption id=\"credits-attachment-260247\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Giant says that the aero gains are thanks to developing the frame, fork, cockpit and Cadex wheels and tyres as a single platform. The new bike has already seen action at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclist.co.uk\/tags\/unbound\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Unbound 200<\/a> this year, where sponsored rider Brendan Johnston finished fourth.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ludi Scholz, Liv gravel and off-road category manager: \u2018Gravel racing has evolved incredibly quickly, and women are a huge part of what\u2019s driving that progression. Freehub options cover all the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclist.co.uk\/buying-guides\/gravel-bike-groupsets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gravel groupset<\/a> choices, with HG11, XDR, N3W and Micro Spline<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclist.co.uk\/in-depth\/what-is-a-freehub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> freehub<\/a> options available.<\/p>\n<p>Despite being 5mm wider than the tyre in the previous generation Cadex GX wheel\/tyre system, the new Cadex GRX wheelset is as aero thanks to a smoother tread pattern, which also reduces the rolling resistance by 3 watts.
