Weaving between old growth trees big enough to make even Peter Disera\u2019s quads look small, the grand finale was a stunning showcase of what Fernie has to offer.<\/p>\n<p>Sweet singletrack served up some shake-ups in the finishing order, but couldn\u2019t shake Disera or Chloe Cross out of the top of the Open\/Pro standings. Looking across categories, though, and Singletrack 3 looked like a hint at the next generation of young talent to emerge from both sides of the Rockies.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_143650\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-143650\" style=\"width: 2000px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cyclingmagazine.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/aGibsonPIctures.3.R3.4242.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-143650\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Peter Disera is the first Fernie Singletrack 3 champion. Photo: John Gibson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Men<\/h2>\n<p>Peter Disera takes the final stage win of the inaugural Fernie Singletrack 3 and, with three wins in three days, the overall title.<\/p>\n<p>Hugh McDougall wins the U20 men\u2019s GC, finishing second overall on the final day of racing. Amanda Felder of Sedona, Ari. finishes second on the final stage. Photo: John Gibson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>The youth<\/h2>\n<p>Morrison\u2019s Peak Pursuit teammates 16-year-olds Sophie Erfle and Emerson Erfle of Calgary and, presumably, siblings, shone in the short course Prospectors race, posting the fastest Prospector women\u2019s times all week.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly showing that the youth have speed, 14-year-old North Van racer Monty Cormack had the fastest Prospector men\u2019s times two of three days to win that overall race.<\/p>\n<p>Full results from the 2026 Fernie Singletrack 3 are <a href=\"https:\/\/zone4.ca\/event\/2026\/5AzNk4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on Zone4.ca<\/a>.
