The 2026 Canadian Road\/Para-Road Championships were held in St. Georges, Quebec June 25\u00a0–\u00a0June 28\u00a0featuring the individual time trial, road race, and criterium events. \u00a0Riders were exposed to a variety of\u00a0conditions during the\u00a0weekend from\u00a0blue skies to torrential downpours\u00a0while also\u00a0navigating a challenging\u00a0road\u00a0race\u00a0course\u00a0featuring a variety of climbs and fast\u00a0descents. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ontario athletes had a\u00a0great championships\u00a0starting with the time trial where\u00a0they captured 12 medals including\u00a03\u00a0national titles from Maartan Duif (MH1), Josh\u00a0Tyers\u00a0(U17M), and Derek Gee (Elite M). \u00a0The U17\/Junior Women\u2019s Road Race forced the athletes to display resilience and grit as the rain was relentless throughout the majority of the 77.1km race.\u00a0\u00a0However, Ontario athletes were up to the challenge\u00a0placing 3 athletes in the top 5 of the U19\u00a0race\u00a0and 4 athletes in the top 6 of the U17\u00a0race. \u00a0Elly Moore took the silver in the U19W while Anna Christensen\u00a0(silver) and Charlotte Caners (bronze) took 2 podium positions in the U17 race. \u00a0Shortly after the U17\/U19 race, a\u00a0hard-fought\u00a0Men\u2019s event saw Luke Valenti\u00a0place\u00a02nd<\/sup>\u00a0overall in the U23\/Elite race. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Saturday\u00a0started with the Para-Road race where Ontario\u00a0athletes\u00a0captured 5\u00a0medals including national titles from Maarten Duif (MH1) and Luka\u00a0Senfner\u00a0(MC5). \u00a0\u00a0In the U17\/U19 Men\u2019s race, Josh Tyers came close to making it a 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0gold medal but fell just short taking the silver in\u00a0the U17 race. The\u00a0U23\/Elite Women\u2019s race\u00a0had an exciting sprint finish with Dylan Baker winning the bronze in the U23 event. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Canadian Road Championships wrapped up with the criterium races which saw Jayden\u00a0McMullen\u00a0win the national title in the U23\/Elite Men\u2019s race. \u00a0In the Women\u2019s races,\u00a0Kaitlyn\u00a0Rauwerda\u00a0(U23\/Elite)\u00a0and\u00a0Alex Fangeat\u00a0(U17\/U19) took home bronze medals. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
