Jaylen Brown has crashed out over some comments made about him as he remains in the middle of some heated trade talks.<\/p>\n
The comment was reported (though to be clear, NOT endorsed) by ESPN front office Insider Bobby Marks.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s mixed feelings about him when you talk to teams,\u201d Marks said on SiriusXM NBA Radio. \u201cThe analytics of Jaylen Brown is not good \u2026 I had one, not an executive, but an analytics guy say, \u2018Yeah, we view him as the seventh-best player on a team.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Holy crap.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Brown was not happy with the commentary and took to X to make it known:<\/p>\n
\u201cAnalytics nowadays used to discredit and control narratives \u2013 Roll the ball out none of these guys better than me on both ends who does he work for.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another tweet,\u00a0\u201cNobody has won more combined regular season and playoff games since I entered the league 10 years ago,\u201d Brown continued.<\/p>\n
Brown\u00a0added<\/a>, \u201cAnalytics have \/ are ruining the game we playing AI hoops.\u201d<\/p>\n Marks replied to Brown\u2019s initial tweet,\u00a0saying, \u201cBut what wasn\u2019t posted was the 2m of saying I\u2019m not an analytics person but an eye test guy. That I would want Jaylen Brown on my team. That you impact winning (191-80 in the last 4 years), is a top-10 player and would help any team looking to win a championship. That part of course didn\u2019t make it. But that\u2019s the media in 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n Brown then quipped, \u201cState Your Source,\u201d in a quote tweet, referencing a shirt he wore during the 2024 Celtics parade.<\/p>\n This comes as Brown in the center of rife trade rumors.
