The NBA offseason has not officially begun, but the speculation surrounding the Golden State Warriors is already reaching another level.<\/p>\n
Multiple league sources indicate that Golden State is exploring a path that could bring both LeBron James and Anthony Davis to the Bay Area.<\/p>\n
The plan reportedly begins with acquiring Davis before attempting to lure James once free agency opens.<\/p>\n
\u201cA trade for Davis would have to include Jimmy Butler, who is on an expiring $57 million contract while recovering from a torn ACL. The Warriors would also have to include draft capital \u2014 they have two future firsts and four first-round swaps to work with in any deal,\u201d Kevin O\u2019Connor reports.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cSources say the Warriors hope adding Davis would help lure LeBron from Los Angeles\u00a0to the Bay Area once free agency officially opens Tuesday. The pitch would be simple: reunite with AD, team up with\u00a0Steph Curry\u00a0and\u00a0Draymond Green, play for Steve Kerr, and chase one more championship with a roster of legends.\u201d<\/p>\n However, Washington appears reluctant to move Davis.<\/p>\n \u201cHe wants to be here. We want him here,\u201d Wizards general manager Will Dawkins said during ESPN\u2019s draft coverage. \u201cWe\u2019ll have that conversation in the middle of August when we can officially have that.\u201d<\/p>\n The uncertainty surrounding Butler also remains a major factor.<\/p>\n \u201cIf I get traded, I get traded. Their job is to win.\u201d Butler said, via ESPN\u2019s Anthony Slater. \u201cCan I help them do that? Yes. If they feel like somebody else can help them do that on a quicker timetable than whenever I come back, then they got to go and do that.
