Strong Oslo run from Megan brings down Yvonne Women&#8217;s 3000m mark &#8211; Scottish Athletics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"meta-date\">Thursday 11th June 2026<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p><strong>Photo by James Rhodes in Oslo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oslo.diamondleague.com\/en\/programme-results\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Diamond League results<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Megan Keith<\/strong> broke the<strong> Scottish Record<\/strong> for women\u2019s 3000m at the Diamond League in <strong>Oslo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Megan took 10 seconds off her PB to post 8:28.35 for seventh place in the race in Norway.<\/p>\n<p>That took down the Scottish Record outdoors for the event, held since 1988 by <strong>Yvonne Murray<\/strong> (at 8:29.02). Megan is now third on the UK all-time list.<\/p>\n<p><em>Well done to Megan, her family, coach<strong> Ross Cairns<\/strong> and all at Inverness Harriers and Edinburgh Uni involved in the development over a number of years.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jake Wightman<\/strong> was fifth in Oslo in the Dream Mile event as he clocked 3: 49.36.<\/p>\n<p>In the same programme, there was a 1500m equal PB for <strong>Kane Elliott<\/strong> with the Falkirk Vics athlete at 3:37.20. <strong>Andrew McGill<\/strong> was at 3:39.51.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Neil Gourley<\/strong> returned to track action after a long absence at a meeting in France. Neil posted 3:41.92 with <strong>Cameron Boyek<\/strong> at 3:42.20.<\/p>\n<p>Long jumper <strong>Stephen Mackenzie<\/strong> enjoyed another competition win in Croatia.
