Joel Embiid has sent Philly fans into a bit of a tizzy with his postgame comments after the 76ers were routed by the Knicks in Game 4.<\/p>\n
Philadelphia weren\u2019t able to win a single game in the Conference semi-finals.<\/p>\n
But, Embiid surprised everyone by hailing it success.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know we lost and I know that\u2019s not the right mentality to have, but for me, this was a success,\u201d Embiid said, via ESPN<\/a>. \u201cI came into this year not knowing where I was going to be, how long I was going to play. If I was even going to play based on how the knee was the last two years and I came in hoping for the best.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like we\u2019re in a position where we figured out the knee, it hasn\u2019t been an issue.\u201d<\/p>\n He then surprised everyone even MORE by expressing uncertainty on whether he would remain a Sixer beyond this season.<\/p>\n \u201cVJ is going, I know, you know, I\u2019m gonna talk to him, he\u2019s gonna be better, and he was amazing for his first year,\u201d The Tyrese is gonna be better, and he\u2019s taking a step every single year. PG that we saw the last couple of weeks, you know, he still got it, and then everybody else. I don\u2019t know who\u2019s gonna be here. I don\u2019t even know if I\u2019m gonna be here, you know, whatever happens happens, but, you know, for me I\u2019m excited about, you know, really getting back to myself.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s worth noting he\u2019s teamed up with many stars of the game including Ben Simmons, JJ Redick, James Harden, Tobias Harris, Al Horford, Tyrese Maxey, Jimmy Butler, Paul George and has still NEVER made it past the conference finals \u2013 the only MVP in history to do so.<\/p>\n Maybe Embiid is just looking at the writing on the wall, because it is true that the 76ers front office have a lot of pondering to do.<\/p>\n A TONNE of their cash in tied up in Paul George and Embiid\u2019s contracts, so they won\u2019t able to do much in the way of improving the roster \u2013 unless that changes.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Steph Curry Gets Worse Whistle Than LeBron: Draymond Green<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
