Scotland U20 men dominated the Uphill Trial and are now selected for Slovenia<\/strong><\/p>\n Scali<\/a>ng heights: Naomi and Scout lead Scots at trials<\/a><\/p>\n Scottish athletes will head to Slovenia<\/strong> next month with the Novuna GB and NI team for the European Off-Road Running Championships<\/strong> from 6-8 June.<\/strong><\/p>\n Selections have now been confirmed for mountain running events in Up-and-Down and Uphill to add to previous Trail announcement.<\/p>\n No fewer than 15 Scots are represented across the disciplines and in a 39-strong team that\u2019s a remarkable representation just short of 40 percent!<\/em><\/p>\n It is a great moment for each athlete individually, of course, but also collectively for Scottish hill and trail running.<\/p>\n We forward warm congratulations to athletes and their families, coaches and clubs and indeed all volunteers contributing to this upsurge in interest and performance.<\/p>\n In fact, the Scottish effect is even wider with two more of those selected \u2013 Matt Knowles and Nancy Scott \u2013 currently based in Scotland and well know to our hill and cross country communities.<\/p>\n Team announcement on UK Athletics website<\/a><\/p>\n The Senior Women\u2019s Up-and-Down team will be hoping to defend the European team gold won at the last Championships in Annecy in 2024, with Scout Adkin <\/strong>and Naomi Lang<\/strong> (Carnethy HRC\/ Glasgow Uni, Lewis Walker) returning from that victorious squad.<\/p>\n The Women\u2019s Uphill team will aim to improve on their team bronze from 2023, where Adkin secured individual silver.<\/p>\n The Senior Men\u2019s Uphill team features Jacob Adkin<\/strong>, the 2024 European Uphill silver medallist, providing valuable championship experience.<\/p>\n Team Leader, Anne Buckley<\/strong> said: \u2018 There were some high-quality performances in the trial races, so we are delighted to be adding such strong mountain runners to the team.
