Photo by Neil Renton<\/strong><\/p>\n As we head into the warmer months, young hill runners are reminded of the below upcoming racing and selection opportunities.<\/p>\n National Junior Hill Running Championships & International U18 Youth Cup Trial<\/strong><\/p>\n Broughton near Biggar, Saturday 16 May<\/em><\/p>\n National championship medals are on offer for the U18, U16 and U14 age groups on this classic up and downhill course.<\/p>\n As an added incentive, for the first two U18s, there is automatic selection for the Scotland team travelling to Gagliano del Capo in Southern Italy on 21 June.<\/p>\n It is also race #3 in the scottish<\/strong>athletics Junior Hill Running League, with 10 bonus points on offer for all finishers.<\/p>\n Entries and information<\/a><\/p>\n Details of selection policy for the U18 World Cup can be found in the Hill & Trail Running Handbook<\/a>.<\/p>\n UK Intercounties Hill \/ Fell Championships<\/strong><\/p>\n Edale, Derbyshire, 14 June<\/em><\/p>\n We are seeking expressions of interest, no later than 22 May<\/strong>, for East, North and West teams of 3 (with 2 to count) in the following categories: U16B \/ U16G, U18M \/ U18W, U20M \/ U20W<\/p>\n The trip includes minibus travel down on Saturday 13 June, from Perth\/Edinburgh (TBC) with pick-ups near Glasgow and the Borders, and an overnight stop near to the race venue. Travel back after the races on Sunday 14.<\/p>\n Athlete contribution \u00a360pp* + race entry fee. All athletes need to enter the race<\/a> individually.<\/p>\n Teams will be selected from those that have expressed interest, based on current form with particular emphasis on Junior Hill League Races.<\/p>\n This is an open event which means that those not selected for a District may still participate and there are also races for all younger categories too.<\/p>\n The trip is subsidised by scottish<\/strong>athletics thanks to the generous donation from the Ben Chonzie Hill Race.
