Botswana photos @kiaracherubini for British Athletics<\/strong><\/p>\n UK Athletics report from World Relays<\/a><\/p>\n Scottish sprinters Nicole Yeargin<\/strong> and Alyson Bell<\/strong> were with the GB and NI teams at the World Relays<\/strong> in Botswana.<\/p>\n Both raced twice over the weekend and were involved in performances in the heats which assured qualification for the 2027 World Champs for the Mixed 4x100m team (Alyson) and the Women\u2019s 4x400m team (Nicole).<\/p>\n The latter team set a World Lead\u00a0 in the heats and on Sunday clocked 3:22.77 to finish just outside the medals in fourth.<\/p>\n Nicole teamed up with Laviai Nielsen, Poppy Malik <\/strong>and Charlotte Henrich<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u2018I believe everyone ran their strongest,\u2019 said Nicole.<\/p>\n \u2018Everyone was in the race, there\u2019s nothing we can put it down to. We know we come back better, and hopefully we\u2019ll get that gold at Europeans this summer.\u2019<\/p>\n Unfortunately the Mixed 4x100m team didn\u2019t get the baton round in their final after a strong performance in the heats.<\/p>\n \u2018I think our heat was such a strong performance. We took it nice and safe, made sure all the changeovers were safe.<\/p>\n \u2018In the final, the first three legs were a sign that we could be really good at this. This is a sign of a really good future for us, and unfortunately, with that fall, we weren\u2019t able to see it through but we just hope that Jeriel (Quainoo)<\/strong> is okay.\u2019<\/p>\n +++<\/p>\n Weynay was third in the British Champs at the London Marathon (photo via London Marathon Events)<\/strong><\/p>\n UK Athletics marathon selection story<\/a><\/p>\n UK Athletics have confirmed the team of marathon athletes representing Novuna Great Britain and Northern Ireland (GB & NI) at the 2026 European Championships<\/strong> in Birmingham.<\/p>\n And it is good to see Shettleston Harriers athlete, Weynay Ghebresilasie<\/strong>, named in the team.
