Some good news for Campagnolo fans.<\/p>\n
Despite rumours<\/a> of it being possibly phased out, Campagnolo has brought the Record name back with a new 13-speed groupset.<\/p>\n The Italian brand has expanded its 13-speed platform with the launch of Record 13. It\u2019s a new groupset that shares the same core design as Super Record 13 but comes in at a lower price point.<\/p>\n Record 13 uses the same wireless 13-speed system as the top-tier version. The main differences come down to materials and finish, Campy says. They add a tiny bit of weight, if you\u2019re keeping track. It will be an extra 200 g and 340 g depending on the build.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n The launch includes five different versions across road and gravel. You can choose between 2x and 1x setups, with cassette options up to 48 teeth for off-road use. Total weights range from about 2,656 g for the lightest 1x road version to just over 2,800 g for all-road and gravel builds.<\/p>\n Key drivetrain parts are basically the same in function. The gravel versions of the rear D add a clutch for better chain retention for those bumpy rides. The cassettes follow the same tight gear spacing introduced with the 13-speed system and are interchangeable with Super Record 13.<\/p>\n The Cranksets use the same chainring options, though Record swaps in a steel axle instead of titanium. They come in: 45\/29, 48\/32, 50\/34, 52\/36, 53\/39, 54\/39, 55\/39). Or, there are also 1x options: (38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52)<\/p>\n You can pick between 165, 170, and 172.5 mm lengths for crankarms.<\/p>\n A power meter option is also optional for all five groupsets.<\/p>\n The Ergopower controls and braking system are carried over as well, including the same lever layout and hydraulic disc setup. The brake calipers use the same design as Super Record, with no changes to braking power or modulation. They\u2019re compatible with 140 mm and 160 mm rotors, with a 160 mm adapter included for the front.<\/p>\n You get road-friendly brake pads by default, but you can swap to tougher sintered pads if you\u2019re riding in wet or rough gravel conditions.<\/p>\nRoad and gravel<\/h2>\n
