A Partnership Initiative between Share the Road Cycling Coalition and Ontario Cycling.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Program Purpose <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n The Share the Road Club Safety & Advocacy Designation is a voluntary, structured program launching in 2026 to support Ontario Cycling affiliated clubs in strengthening a culture of safety while riding and engaging constructively in their communities.<\/p>\n The program aligns with the principles of the Share the Road Bicycle Friendly Communities framework and provides practical education tools, advocacy guidance, and ready-to-use resources.<\/p>\n Clubs that complete the program requirements may use the Share the Road Club Designation badge on their website and kits, in recognition of their leadership in road safety and community engagement.<\/p>\n This is a structured designation program. To receive and maintain designation, clubs must complete the core actions outlined below. Implementation is flexible. Standards are consistent.<\/p>\n 2026 Pilot Program <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n We\u2019re building a stronger culture of road safety and community advocacy across Ontario, and we want your club to help shape it. <\/i><\/i><\/p>\n 10 PILOT CLUB SPOTS AVAILABLE<\/span> <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n WHY THIS PROGRAM <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n Built by Clubs – For Clubs <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n Ontario\u2019s cycling community is growing. So is the responsibility we share to make our roads safer, our communities more informed, and our clubs stronger advocates for the cyclists who depend on them.<\/p>\n The Share the Road Club Designation <\/b>is a new, voluntary program developed in partnership with Ontario Cycling affiliated clubs, with real feedback from club leaders like you. It gives clubs practical tools, community resources, and recognition for doing what many of you are already doing: leading with safety and riding with purpose.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n WHAT PILOT CLUBS RECEIVE <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n Early Access. Hands-On Support. Early Launch <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n Go live May 2026 ahead of the full program rollout in 2027 and be recognized as a founding designated club.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n Hands-On Training <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n Receive dedicated workshop support from Share the Road to get your club started right.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Toolkits & Templates <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n Advocacy presentations, meeting scripts, event signage, and ready-to-use safety resources- all provided to you.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n Designation Badge <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n Use the official Share the Road Club badge on your website, kits, and communications to show your community leadership.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Media Spotlight <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n Pilot clubs will be featured and recognized across Share the Road and Ontario Cycling channels.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n Shape the Program <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n Your feedback as a pilot club will directly influence the final tools, processes, and resources for all Ontario clubs.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n What Designated Clubs Do <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The Share the Road Club Commitment <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n As a designated Share the Road Club, we commit to:<\/p>\n Promoting responsible and predictable riding behaviour.<\/p>\n Encouraging members to model safe conduct both as cyclists and as motorists.<\/p>\n Reinforcing respect for all road users.<\/p>\n Embedding safety education into our club culture.<\/p>\n Participating in constructive, non-partisan community engagement to support safer roads.<\/p>\n Participating annually in a Share the Road Ride initiative. <\/span><\/p>\n 100% Voluntary. Always. <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n This designation is not a requirement for Ontario Cycling club affiliation. No club will be mandated<\/p>\n to participate.<\/p>\n Clubs choose to pursue designation because they believe in road safety, community engagement, and the value of being recognized leaders in their region.<\/p>\n Implementation is flexible. You lead because you choose to.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN<\/span> <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n Be One of 10 Pilot Clubs <\/b><\/b><\/p>\n We\u2019re looking for 10 Ontario Cycling clubs ready to help us test, refine, and launch a program that will strengthen road safety and community advocacy across the province.
