I probably started volunteering, as soon as I started ‘club’ cycling, back in 1995, standing on a corner waving a flag.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I’m a HopOn instructor and one of the coaches for Miltion Revolution CC. I also coach at the Velodrome for NCIM, and can usually be found wondering its halls assisting riders with mechanical needs.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What is your favourite memory from volunteering?<\/strong><\/p>\n

During a HopOn session, watching a young rider who initally wouldn’t say boo to a goose ride around confidently standing tall like a giraffe, and proudly shouting ‘Nom!’, ‘Nom!’, ‘Nom!’<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What advice would you give to a new volunteer or someone looking to get into volunteering?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Start small. It doesn’t have to be a big or important thing. You won’t know if you’re doing it right, but don’t worry, neither do the people you’re helping.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
