LeBron James is no stranger to the postseason, but this year brings something entirely new.<\/p>\n

As the Los Angeles Lakers prepare for their first-round matchup against the Houston Rockets, the 41-year-old superstar is set to share the playoff stage with his son, Bronny James, for the first time.<\/p>\n

For LeBron, the moment stands above everything else he\u2019s accomplished in his legendary career.<\/p>\n

\u201cMe being on the floor with him,\u201d LeBron said after practice, \u201cit\u2019s the best thing that\u2019s ever happened to me in my career, above everything that I\u2019ve accomplished. So, the fact that he\u2019s put himself in a position to get his number called for a postseason game is pretty remarkable and pretty cool given the circumstances that he\u2019s been given the last couple years.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe earned it, he deserves it, and he\u2019ll be ready.\u201d<\/p>\n

Head coach JJ Redick emphasized that trust has been building.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to have to have all hands on deck for the series,\u201d Redick said, via ESPN\u2019s Dave McMenamin<\/a>. \u201cWhen you\u2019re short-handed, he\u2019s got to be ready. \u2026 I think Bronny\u2019s improved a lot. I think we trust him. The shooting piece I\u2019m a believer in because of how well he\u2019s shot it for the last two years in the G League. \u2026 He\u2019s improved a ton defensively, in terms of his body positioning both on- and off-ball.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Bronny, the moment is something he\u2019s been chasing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, it\u2019s what I\u2019ve wanted,\u201d Bronny said. \u201cMy dream is to play in the playoffs. I wasn\u2019t able to play in March, so this is a bigger stage than that, and I\u2019m completely and totally excited to get out there with my teammates.\u201d<\/p>\n

For LeBron, the focus remains the same, even as history unfolds.<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing changes for me from the regular season to the postseason besides just [having] even more heightened focus,\u201d he said. \u201cThe only thing that changes in the postseason, you just know that you are going to be playing the same team at least four times \u2014 so you got to key in on them and understand like tendencies even more and be more thorough.\u201d<\/p>\n
