Nine Spring Mountain Bike Stereotypes

Comic

We’ve saved some daylight (permanently, for you lucky British Columbians), and spring is finally in the air. A recent visit back to the frozen wasteland of Idaho reminded me that in most of the Northern Hemisphere, year-round riding is not a thing. For most of my life as a mountain biker, this time of year has heralded the great transition, from being a full-time skier to slowly inching back into being a mountain biker. And every rider approaches that transition differently, so here are a few archetypes.

No art blog this week, because I’m eager to wrap this up and get out for a ride! But, if you find yourself in Bellingham this Friday, I’ll be selling the original paintings from the Raccoons Borrowed My Bike book at the Transition Outpost. We’ll have a group ride at 1, followed by the painting sale from 3ish to 6. The paintings will be super affordable, and Transition will have bevies and Outpost Eats available.
