Women’s Basketball: Mary Daley Receives All-MIAC Honorable Mention – Macalester College Athletics

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College junior guard Mary Daley (Cumberland, R.I./Bishop Feehan) was named All-MIAC honorable mention, as the conference announced its season-ending awards today.

Daley was one of the conference’s most versatile players this season, leading the Scots in assists, steals and field goal percentage. She averaged 3.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 45.6 percent from the field to rank fifth, 13th and 10th in the MIAC, respectively. Listed at 5-foot-6, Daley ranked second on the team and 12th in the conference with 5.9 rebounds per contest, a testament to her hustle and smart play. This season she posted two double-doubles, registering 12 points and 10 rebounds against Saint Benedict on Jan. 7, and 15 points and 11 boards against St. Scholastica on Feb. 4. Daley also was the Scots’ second-leading scorer with 10.0 points per game.

Through 74 career games, Daley has 545 points, 380 rebounds, 208 assists and 113 steals as a Scot.

Concordia’s Maya Metcalf was chosen the MIAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year, while Ayla Olson of Saint Mary’s was named the Rookie of the Year. Concordia head coach Kim Wagers was selected the Coach of the Year.
