Somerset, NJ – Fifth year senior Kem Nwabudu of the Wagner College women’s basketball team earned Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
In two games this past week, Nwabudu tallied 14 points and 12 rebounds against Stonehill on Thursday and then followed that up with 16 points and four rebounds against CCSU on Saturday.
Her double-double against Stonehill was her second of the season as the Elmont, NY native shot 6-8 from the floor.
In the second quarter against CCSU, Nwabudu tallied 10 of her 16 points on 5-6 shooting.
Throughout conference play, Nwabudu is averaging 9.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
Along with Player of the Week, Nwabudu earned NEC Prime Performer honors with graduate student Zhaneia Thybulle and senior Drayah Heyward.
Thybulle averaged 11.5 points and 5.5 assists per game against Stonehill and CCSU while Heyward averaged 12.5 points, four rebounds and five assists.
The Seahawks will travel to St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday, January 26. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
