The 2026 NBA Draft is already being described by scouts and executives as one of the deepest classes in recent years, particularly because of its impressive collection of guards and high-end star talent at the top.

Most projections expect the first few selections to include some combination of AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer and Caleb Wilson, all of whom have established themselves as premier prospects entering the draft cycle.

Beyond the projected stars, the overall depth of the class has become one of the biggest storylines.

Evaluators have pointed to the strength of the guard group as a defining feature, with names such as Darius Acuff Jr., Keaton Wagler, Kingston Flemings, Mikel Brown Jr. and Brayden Burries continuing to rise in popularity among NBA scouts.

The lottery results added another layer of intrigue to the class.

The Washington Wizards secured the No. 1 overall pick, followed by the Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies, and Chicago Bulls.

With Washington now holding the top selection, the franchise is expected to heavily influence how the opening portion of the draft unfolds.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers will receive the No. 5 pick through the Indiana Pacers as part of the Ivica Zubac trade agreement finalized at the deadline.
