Canada’s next generation of track cyclists made a serious statement over the weekend at the 2026 Canadian track championships in Edmonton. Riders raced on the brand spanking new, and seriously impressive velodrome at the new Coronation Park Sports and Recreation Centre.
Several riders piled up wins across multiple events.
In the under-17 women’s ranks, Addison Marcynuk was everywhere. The Milton Revolution Racing rider swept a long list of titles, from the pursuit and sprint to the keirin, points race, elimination and time trial. Québec’s squad also flexed its depth, taking the team pursuit, team sprint and Madison.
On the men’s side, Alexander Gies grabbed attention early by breaking the Canadian record in the flying 200. It was a goal he’d been targeting for a year. He backed it up with wins in the pursuit, sprint, Madison and 500 TT, while also helping Ontario to team titles.
Élodie Malois put together one of the most complete performances of the meet in the junior women’s field, sweeping six individual events and adding team sprint and Madison gold. She also set three Canadian records over the weekend.
In junior men’s racing, Cohen Vigliotti and Amos Scott Bouris led the charge, combining for multiple wins across individual and team events, including the Madison and team sprint.
